I’m happy to once again work with the New Jersey Lottery on a fun and easy project showcasing all their four Holiday themed Instant Games available for your gift giving season. Individual tickets make the perfect stocking stuffer or small gift for those on your list. Think crossing guards, bus drivers or teachers. Or, if you’re looking for a larger gift idea, consider making a Lottery Ticket Cake with more than one chance to win!
New Jersery Lottery Tickets are easy to obtain as they are found in tons of brick and mortar stores around the state, like Wawa or 7-11 or even kiosks at the mall.
Disclaimer: You must be 18 or older to buy a lottery ticket. The New Jersey Lottery reminds players, it’s only a game…remember to play responsibly. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 1800-GAMBLER®. For more information, visit New Jersey Lottery.
And even if you don’t win the first time around, you have a second chance to win with their Million Dollar Replay! By entering $10 of eligible NJ Lottery non-winning Instant Tickets you can be entered into a drawing that could make you a millionaire!
This Lottery Ticket Cake came together pretty quickly! You will need:
- New Jersey Lottery Tickets
- Plastic Tub
- Circular Metal Tray
- Circular Foam Discs
- Adhesives (I used Dotto – a temporary try adhesives for the tickets, a Foam dot for the penny, tape for the paper straw, and hot glue for the base)
- Ribbons
- Artificial flowers
- Paper straw
- Penny
- Printable Tag (Download my free printable here)
First create your cake base. This cost effective approach was all courtesy of the dollar store! Turn the plastic tub upside down on the metal tin and use hot glue to adhere the lid in place. Next, use hot glue to adhere the foam discs in place on the bottom of the tub. I found these discs in the floral department.
Use temporary adhesive to adhere the lottery tickets around the plastic tub. Tip: Try to avoid adding the adhesive to the barcode.
Repeat to add lottery tickets on the foam discs to create the second cake tier. Wrap ribbons around the tickets to secure in place.
Add a lucky penny onto the printable tag and tape the tag onto a paper straw. You may also add additional high value lottery tickets along with this tag. Insert into the foam disc top.
Insert additional artificial flowers or decorations in the top of the foam disc to cover the surface, as desired.
Voila! Your Lottery Ticket Cake is complete! The cake base materials cost me all of $5 to make and now I have a unique and impactful way to gift the chance to win big with the New Jersey Lottery!
I actually made two cakes and plan to give them to my dad and father-in-law. Not only will they be enjoying the fun of their scratch off lottery tickets on the cake, but I am also sneaking in some goodies inside the plastic tub. Together this is a stress free gift full of entertainment and snacks! What dad wouldn’t love this?!
